My Adventures in the Philippines 7 -Parade-

I went to see a parade in Naga for their city festival.

It was very beautiful!!

ナガ市にパレードを見に行って来たので今回はその様子をご紹介します。

松本市のサイトウキネンパレードをダンスメインにした感じのパレードでした。

サイトウキネンパレードに参加してた私にはとても懐かしいものに感じました。

今回は写真がたくさんなのでコメントは短くいきたいと思います。笑

吹奏楽をやっていた過去があるとどうしても楽器ばっかりに目がいってしまう。

後ろ姿も可愛い！！

シンプルなのにとてもかっこいい。

素敵な衣装だけど暑そう。

水たまりの上でも足踏みしてるなんて！！

素晴らしい！！

プロ意識ですね。

I've been here in the Philippines about 4 months, but I already experienced many things.
I'm so grateful for my family and especially my husband!


まだフィリピンに来て4ヶ月。
こんなに色々経験できるなんていい時期に来たなー。

My Adventures in the Philippines 6 -Trade Fare-

There was a big fiesta in Naga last week, so I went there to see the parade.

I went to trade fair, so I'll tell about how it looked like.

I'll upload about the parade next time.

In this trade fare, they are selling some stuff from Bicol.

先週ナガ市では大きなお祭りが行われていました。

パパとママがナガ市に住んでるのでパレードを見に来ました！

パレードの様子は次回お届けします。

今回はお祭りで開催されているトレードフェアに行ってきました。

こちらではビコール地域のものが色々売っています。

For example, this is cassava chips.

例えばこちらのカサバチップス（タピオカチップス）

This one is sweet, but there was a cheese flavor too.
I like cheese one better, but potato chips are better than them. haha

こちらは甘い味付けでしたがチーズ味のもありました。

個人的にはチーズ味の方が美味しかったかな。

でもやっぱりポテトチップスにはかないません。

There are these kinds of T-shirts too.

ここには写ってないけど私もママに1枚買ってもらいました♡

This is a miracle fruit from Davao.

こちらはダバオからのミラクルフルーツ！

なにがミラクルか分からないけど

そのうちダバオにも遊びに行くのでちょっと気にしておこうと思ってパシャリ。

金魚さんは売り物ではないらしいです。

Christmas starts on September in the Philippines.

フィリピンでは9月からもうクリスマス。

There are keyholders.

こんなお土産キーホルダーも有り。

These University students are selling "Polvoron."

地元大学生の可愛いお姉さんたちもお店を出してました。

They mixed nipa in polvoron.
It tasted like cookies, but it's more powdery.

ニパで作ったポルボロンだそうです。

クッキーみたいな感じなんだけれども

もっとホロホロしてて食べるのが大変でした。

でも味はとっても美味しい。

It was a very fun place to visit.

色んなものが見れてとても楽しい場所でした。

やっぱりお祭りっていいですね。

My Adventures in the Philippines 5 -Birthday-

I went to the birthday party of Kaylee, my cousin-in-law's daughter.

There are filipino spaghetti, bihon, lumpia, fried chicken and so on.

昨日はいとこの赤ちゃんの誕生日パーティーに行ってきました。

フィリピンの子供の誕生日会でよく見るごちそうは

やっぱりスパゲッティ、そしてビーフン。

もちろんルンピア（春巻き）もよく登場します。

フィリピンのスパゲッティは日本のナポリタンみたいな味。

The food will be different in each family.

I'll tell you what I experienced yesterday.

家庭によって料理も誕生日の祝い方も様々らしいのですが

今回は私が体験した1歳になる子の誕生日会の様子です。

Everything was very delicious.

どれも美味しかったなー。

The birthday baby blows the candle 

(well, she just turned 1 year old, so she doesn't know how to blow the candle yet. So mom helped her).

まずは誕生日の子がろうそくの火を消して

(まだ1歳なのでママが手伝いました。)

And the party started!

こんな感じでパーティースタート。

It's very nice to have a party outside.

外でのパーティーってとても素敵。

ここからがとても面白くてびっくりしたこと。

誕生日会に来てくれた他の子供たちも楽しめるようにこんなゲームをしてました。

A boy is trying to tie/hang the rope that holds the prizes to a branch.

こんな感じで木にロープをまいて

お菓子をたくさんつり下げる。

お菓子じゃなくておもちゃでもいいらしい。

A lot of snacks!!

These are the prizes for the game.

じゃーん！

お菓子がたくさん。

Everybody is waiting.

みんな待ってる待ってる。

The game is called "Pabitin," and it means hanging.

It is a tradition that the person celebrating the birthday will be the first one to get a prize.

このゲームは「パビティン」っていうゲームで

「吊るす」という意味。

伝統ではこれを誕生日の子がまず一個取って

 The game started!

ゲームスタート！！！

They are going to jump and get the prizes they want.

ジャンプして欲しいお菓子を取ります。

All kids can join this game and get the prizes :)

What a fun game!!

誕生日会に来てくれた子供たち誰でも参加できて

さらにお菓子やおもちゃをもらえるっていう

とっても楽しいゲーム。

こんな誕生日会いいなーー☆

They had the other game too, they call it "Pukpok Palayok."

もう1つは「プクポックパラヨック」というゲーム。

名前がなんとも可愛らしい。

They hang the clay pot on the branch.

One of the kids will be blindfolded and he/she will need to hit and break the pot in three tries,

and if he/she fails, another kid will have the opportunity to break it.

こんな茶色いつぼを目隠しして

棒で割るというハロウィーンのゲームみたいなもの。

この子たちの楽しそうな表情をみてるとこっちまで笑顔になる。

Then once it broke, kids pick up the prizes!

そして割れたらみんなで一気に拾う！！！

I really had a good time in the party.

誕生日会に行くと特典がたくさんついてくる気がして

とても楽しい時間でした。

Both games can be held not only on birthdays but for other celebrations too.

どちらのゲームも誕生日だけでなくクリスマスなどほかのパーティーでもやるそうです。

By the way, my cousin-in-law is living in this beautiful place, surrounded by the trees.

ちなみにいとこはこーんな感じの映画に出てきそうな

とても素敵な場所に住んでいました。

My Adventures in the Philippines 4 -Street Foods 2-

I'm going to introduce some street foods again today.

The first one is "Fish ball."

It is made from meat of fish.

昨日に続いてストリートフードを紹介していきます。

今回の食べ物はフィッシュボール。

自分の中ではたこ焼きみたいなのを想像してたんですが、全く別もの。

魚のミンチを小麦粉などと混ぜて作るそうです。

Like the picture, we put them in the cup or on a stick.

こんな感じで自分の欲しい物を取って串に刺したりカップにいれたり。

We put the amount we want by ourselves and put them like this.

こんな風に自分で数を数えながら入れていきます。

Then we pour the sauce. The sauce can be sweet, spicy, or both. It depends on what taste you want.

My favorite is sweet and spicy sauce.

あとは甘いみたらしだんごにかかってるソースみたいな味のをかけて完成。

ソースは2種類あって1つは甘いもの、もう1つは甘辛い唐辛子入りのもの。

私は唐辛子入りの辛いソースの方がお気に入り。

Maybe the sauce looks better on this picture.

こっちの写真の方がソースがよくみえるかな？

On the right hand side is fish ball and on the left hand side is fried chicken.

向かって右側がフィッシュボール、　左側が小さいフライドチキン。

What's the taste?

It's hard to describe, but it is really delicious.

I never tried it before but it's addicting for me.

I want to eat more and more.

どんな味かというと、フライドチキンは軟骨の唐揚げみたいな感じの味で

フィッシュボールは説明しにくいけどくせになる味。

何っぽいかなー。。。

お好み焼きの生地みたいな感じかな。

一度食べたらまた食べたくなってしまう味です。

Fried chicken is 5 pesos each, and fish ball is 50 cents each.

フライドチキンは1本5ペソ（12円くらい）フィッシュボールは1つ50セント（2円くらい）

計算が楽なはずなのにしょっちゅう間違えて売ってるおじさんにびっくりされる始末。

いつも数え直してくれてありがとう。

Next one is "Scramble."

It is made of ice, sugar and they added a little bit of food color.

The usual color of scramble is pink. They put chocolate syrup on top.

Sometimes it comes with a Stick-O (wafer stick).

次はスクランブル。

味のついたかき氷に粉砂糖、チョコレートシロップ、

スティック•オーというクッキー菓子をさしたもの。

It's like this!

It is very different from shave ice, it tastes like ice cream.

The color and the taste makes me really happy.

こんな感じ！！

日本のかき氷とは全然違ってアイスクリームみたいな感じ。

このフワフワ感がたまらなくくせになる。

そしてスティック•オーも私の好きなお菓子の1つなので最高。

It's 5 pesos for small and 10 pesos for large.

スクランブルは小さいサイズが5ペソ（写真のサイズ）

大きいサイズが10ペソで買えます。

Many elementary students buy some snacks after school.

I wish I had those in Japan when I was that age.

こんな感じのところで小学生とかが学校帰りに買って食べながら帰って行きます。

日本でも自分が小学生のときこれが出来たら嬉しかったのに。

田舎だから特に買いに行けるお店もなかったけど。笑

By the way, there is one more snacks made of banana.

It is called "Ginamos" in Bicol dialect.

They cut banana into small pieces and fried them.

そうそう、バナナでできたお菓子は実はもう1つありました。

こちらがギナモス。

「強そうな名前だねー」って言ったら

「そうだよ、昔は手でばななをつぶしてたからそんな名前になったんだよ。

今は小さく切ってるけどね。」とのお答え。

名前もそんな感じでつけられるんですね。

The taste is as same as sinapot.

It is less sweet than other banana snacks.

味の方はシナポットと同じで甘さ控えめ。

美味しかったーー！
