久しぶりの更新です。
長らくお待たせいたしました。
これからはもう少し頑張ります。笑
We went to Davao last October.
去年の10月にダバオというフィリピンの中の南の方の島へ遊びに行ってきました。
If we are going to live in the Philippines, I really want to live here!
... except for the flood and huge traffic. haha
It is very beautiful and safe.
当たり前だけど自分たちが住んでいる場所とは全然違う雰囲気。
フィリピンに永住するならここに住みたいって思うくらい綺麗。
渋滞や雨が降る度に軽い洪水になるのはちょっといやだけど
わりと治安もいいところで素敵。
Especially fruits are DELICIOUS!!!
なによりも果物が美味しい！！！！
If I tell a Filipino that I went to Davao, they all will ask me
"Did you eat durian?"
ダバオと言えばドリアン。
フィリピン人にダバオに行って来たというと必ず
「ドリアン食べた？」
って聞かれるくらい有名。
King of the Fruit - durian.
I'm really curious to eat any kind of food, but durian is different.
I really did not know if I can eat it because of the strong smell.
果物の王様ドリアン。
食べ物であればなんでも食べてみたい私ですが
このドリアンだけは躊躇してしまうくらいの異臭。
まだ切ってもいないのに漂う三角コーナーの臭い。
I was just guessing that this is the same feeling when forigners eat Natto, which is stinky bean in Japan.
外国人が納豆に対する気持ちと一緒なのかな
って思いながら恐る恐る食べてみました。
Inside is like this.
You only can eat around seeds.
It smells amazing. haha
切ると中はこんな感じ。
食べられる部分は真ん中の種の周りだけ。
なんて贅沢な！！
中身の臭いはもっと強烈。
You can use your bare hands to eat
but it's kind of sticky, so you can cover your hands with a plastic bag.
こうやって素手で取って食べても良いのだけれども
べとべとするのでビニール袋を手にかぶせて試食。
It was very smelly, but very creamy and tasty!!
It was very sweet and delicious!
ものすごく臭い！
でもクリーミーで美味しい！！！
バナナとか、そういう感じの甘ーい果物でした。
美味しいのになんでこの臭いなんだろう。。。
I ate durian twice when I was in Davao, and I noticed that native durian tastes better.
Well, both have the same smell though.
ダバオ滞在の間に2回程食べましたが
ネイティブって呼ばれているドリアンの方が
美味しかったです。
臭いはどちらもすごいですが。
This is mangosteen.
It is very delicious.
こちらはマンゴスチン。
本当に美味しい。
酸味がとっても美味しい。
ライチに似た味なのかな？
でも食べられる部分はドリアンと同じで種の周りだけ。
This one is called mickey mouse flower.
こちらはミッキーマウスって呼ばれている花。
そう言われたらそう見えなくもないけど
なんかどっかのパクリの雰囲気。
It is a very good experience to eat durian if you have the opportunity to come to Davao.

ダバオに来たらまずはドリアンをお試しあれ。

ドリアンアイスクリームはとても濃厚で

匂いも濃厚。
実際臭いがなかったらバニラアイスクリームみたいな感じ。
These are candies made by durian and mangosteen.
こんな感じでキャンディーも売っています。
Almost all of my Japanese friends were dead because of durian candies,
but it is worth to try :)
他にもドリアンジャム、ドリアンチーズキャンディーなどなど
ドリアンで出来たお土産もいっぱいあるので試してみて下さい。
私の友達はほぼ全滅でしたが
好奇心旺盛な人にはとってもいいものだと思います。
